Troubles Melt Like Lemondrops

Chickadee has a new song.

It all started when she hit me over the head. No? You're not gonna believe that? Oh, right. I've informed everyone too too well of her abilities. Shame.

Well, I suppose it was my fault then. I was carrying Chickadee on one hip and our travel toiletries were on the floor. I needed something. I'm sure it was vitally important, but I have no idea what it was now. I bent down sideways. You know. The way that my mom taught me to bend over modestly in a dress. Chickadee doesn't like the blood rushing to her head suddenly and feeling like she's going to fall to the floor. With counseling, we've reach the modesty agreement.

This time, it wasn't a good plan. The toilet was right in front of me, and my cell phone hit my hip and worked it's way up and out of my pocket. Well, you know the rest of the story.  I am so glad we have a warranty, and the lady was super nice enough to give us a new phone.

Because our computer is also on the fritz, I don't have access to Chickadee's favorite videos and songs. This isn't just me speaking. Her therapists practically beg me to come up with some sort of a solution. We spent an hour or two going over possibilities. I needed motivational ones for therapy, but I also need calming to help her unwind after a nightmare, or after a hard PT session.

This was both our favorite:

Her troubles truly do melt away. It's so sweet to watch. His voice is like a massage for my ears and yoga to my mind. It's been on repeat. Such a beautiful world.

What do you listen to that helps you unwind like nothing else?

  4. Primary songs and a special rendition done called a Childs prayer: primary songs for bedtime. They are Heavenly and Jer loves them. The nurses kept headphones on his head through the night so that the NICu noise did not keep him awake since he was in the most critical area of the unit. The one that gets the new arrivals at all hours of the night usually.

It's Here

We got the moving truck rather unexpectedly. It's more expensive than Mr. Survival planned, so we're doing a lot of lifting, cardio, and squats. No. We're not doing the bootcamp in a trailer. We ARE moving things to the new garage, since we can't move in yet, but they're being kind enough to let us dump in a storage manner. Sorry. I'll have to beg your forgiveness and promise to update you. Eventually.

Flying With Concrete

Today I wanted to write about my dreams. Full of hope and bliss and fulfillment. Yeah, I sound about as light as a bucket of cement. Ready to fly away. Hang on, while I toss out the top of the pile. Maybe that will help me find my lofty aspirations. Nope. Thing is, I'm remembering today that I'm afraid of heights. Really. Once Hubbend made me climb up three stories of scaffolding. Broke it all down for me and left me no other choice. Made me feel irreplaceable. Yes, we must remember that I am crazy friends. Leave it to me to feel important by being told to go up a towering structure of death. I did it though. And I even wired a speaker while I was up there. But I'm still afraid of heights. So. Do you wanna help me out today? For every comment that tells me something someone wants to be able to do that they can't do now I will do one minute of exercise. Really. Because of my child care situation, it will have to be tomorrow morning. So have at it. ...

Hippity Hop

I hope it doesn't matter that it's been a week or so since my post on her...but I do have a fabulous special needs daughter.   THIS   and   THAT   are my most recent musings on Special Needs parenting. I'm not sure what I think about either one. It's about being out in public.   Thanks to Sunday at Adventures in Extreme Parenthood   I can handle this blog hop on a week as crazy as this.  I'm excited to visit all these excellent blogs. Stay tuned next week though, for updates on Chickadee's G-tube surgery, moving and The Beast and it's sugar-free diet.  Thanks for playing along at home. I really couldn't do it without you all. Oh, and visit my Facebook Page to see how my weigh-in went this week for GAG.   **I just figured out that  Super Mommy to the Rescue  and Autism Learning Felt  are the sponsoring blogs.  Please follow them if you link up!
