Right In the Toilet

Feng Shui Bathroom

It dropped out of my front pocket and straight down to the deepest part of the bowl. Quick, clean, and impossible to catch. I think it was the bubble that awoke my synapses. The single large bubble that spelled out to my shocked brain, "C-I-R-C-U-I-T" and "W-E-T" and I sprang into action.

Two seconds tops.

But, having had experience with a 'slightly' wet phone I knew what it meant. See, someone had told me that they slip their iphone into their sports bra while running. I'm warning you, this is an alien plot to expose those of us not yet infiltrated.

Either that or I've been identified as hosting an extrasweatacular parasite.

Could be either.

So, my business associate and I had a harder than usual time communicating. I was excited to see her, because we get along better than most.  We finally caught up over email. I drove twelve hours to get here, and while there is a bit of family to see I needed to get a few things straightened out. The kind of things that can only be settled in person.

When I got there she had her office set up like a spa. Well, as much as an office can be a spa. Albeit she had an ambitious schedule outlined for us, we were both confident we could knock it out without a problem. Only.

I forgot my laptop. What was I thinking? So we did the best that we could with what we had and I was able to bring the pet project home with me. Sometimes it's better to get things done at the office while being completely unplugged.

In spite of my associate's junior assistant behaving somewhat jealously, I left feeling like I'd been to a full body masseuse. Do you have any business acquaintances like that? Yeah. I didn't think so. I am bragging.

Mr. Survival kept all the little survivalists for me, since he's been gone for two weeks. Do you know what it's like to be without Mr. Survival for two weeks? Of course not, never having had him. He is like a drug. It's better you not have to experience that kind of withdrawal.

Do you know what he said after I came home?

Mr. *SIGH*
Me. "You okay?"
Mr. "Oh. I'm just not used to this."
Me. "Used to what?"
Mr. "You know. What you do all day. Every day. I don't know how you do it."
Me. "Did the kids fight all day?"
Mr. "Oh, no. I didn't even see the older two hardly at all today."

Then I stopped because it might seem like I was rubbing it in. But I really couldn't help the smug little smile. I tried, but it wouldn't come off. Instead I gave him a hand massage grinning like mad.

Do you have anyone in your life that is like quiet meditation even while you laugh, joke and disagree? Tell me all about them. I'd love to know.

  1. Sorry about your phone. Been there :( .

I do have someone who is like quiet meditation - it isn't my Mr...I love him dearly but he can get to the of my last nerve with alarming deftness! However, my closest friend Lisa, who is a lung cancer survivor 'mongst many other things is my softest place to fall. My most fervent wish is to be for someone else (including her and hubby) what she is for me.

  5. The answer to your italicized questions is "No...at least not someone in human form." The only One is Him, although I tend not to disagree with Him at all. ;)

It's Here

We got the moving truck rather unexpectedly. It's more expensive than Mr. Survival planned, so we're doing a lot of lifting, cardio, and squats. No. We're not doing the bootcamp in a trailer. We ARE moving things to the new garage, since we can't move in yet, but they're being kind enough to let us dump in a storage manner. Sorry. I'll have to beg your forgiveness and promise to update you. Eventually.

I Found True Happiness

It feels like I've become a detached voice, writing but not feeling on this blog.  I'm living a lot of things that don't fit neatly into my bloggable ownership file. Even now, I've spent an hour with this tab open to write a new post and I've done absolutely everything else possible.  For once I can't put a finger on what I'm feeling.  I don't fit into any definable box. On one hand, I'm spending an hour in therapy with Chickadee and another hour round trip three times a week. Mr. Survival is fighting off unemployment blues. We cannot shake things up and have me go to work. I'm not going to go to FitBloggin'11 . But, on the other hand, Chickadee is STANDING in the stander for minutes instead of seconds! Chickadee is grasping things momentarily for the first time in eighteen months. I'm so in love with Mr. Survival it's unbelievable. We are tighter as a family than we ever have been. I'm stressed and frustrated.  I...

Flying With Concrete

Today I wanted to write about my dreams. Full of hope and bliss and fulfillment. Yeah, I sound about as light as a bucket of cement. Ready to fly away. Hang on, while I toss out the top of the pile. Maybe that will help me find my lofty aspirations. Nope. Thing is, I'm remembering today that I'm afraid of heights. Really. Once Hubbend made me climb up three stories of scaffolding. Broke it all down for me and left me no other choice. Made me feel irreplaceable. Yes, we must remember that I am crazy friends. Leave it to me to feel important by being told to go up a towering structure of death. I did it though. And I even wired a speaker while I was up there. But I'm still afraid of heights. So. Do you wanna help me out today? For every comment that tells me something someone wants to be able to do that they can't do now I will do one minute of exercise. Really. Because of my child care situation, it will have to be tomorrow morning. So have at it. ...
