Spray it, Don't Say it!

Anybody ever drink from a sprinkler? Or seen a dog do it? That is what it is like to feed my little Chickadee. It's pretty funny. People sitting in front of us at church or even just hazarding to get in line in front of us at the library or grocery store have learned that lesson. Don't cut in line! HA!

I realized the other day that my glasses aren't getting spittle on them from some weird reversal of gravity regarding my flossing. Or from my hubbend's flossing. It's from her blowing constant Raspberries in my general direction. Because she loves me.

Some people know exactly what I'm talking about. Others are horrified. Then they are even more shocked when I joke about it. It's funny!

It's that or be offended. By their inability to understand. By their obvious disdain for my parenting-seriously, babysit for an hour-or our general unkemptness. I could really go on and on, and I've only been in it for a year. I prefer to laugh.

I like to try to tease her out of being offended. My Chickadee is quite smart you see, and will punish me for hours when someone is rude and I deflect with humor. I have to admit I like to bash inconsiderates in my head. But the truth is, life is too hard, short and challenging without our dose of humor. I bet I'll be the envy of all the moms when they see my raspberry kisses.

If not, who cares?

  1. I sort of understand, my husband has narcolepsy and sometimes if a joke is really funny, he'll sort of slump over in his chair...people are horrified if I say something like "oh come on, that wasn't even that funny" I'm just teasing, this is my life, I gotta roll with it.

  2. @KatDoesDiets- I think that's it. I like to approach things with humor. It's part of me. I try not to be obnoxious, but then again things strike you funny the thousandth time. Maybe not the first. I'm trying to be kind. -obviously difficult for me- ;)

  3. You know what...there is nothing wrong with making lemonades out of lemons :) Better yet, it's totally positive to have a good positive attitude about things! You know, being miserable isn't going to ever make a situation better, only worse! Hang in there mama!

  7. Your post makes me miss those days with little tiny guys! I would think it adorable if your Chickadee blew raspberries at me, even if she sprayed it! What could be better. Some people need to loosen up about 200%. Baby spray is pretty benign! I love that you enjoy it!

  8. @Leslie-Thanks! Most people actually do feel like you. Even some that have given me crusties. I find-later-that they are usually just narrowing their eyes because they are trying to understand. Not because they are aiming laserbeams at me! Thank you!

It's Here

We got the moving truck rather unexpectedly. It's more expensive than Mr. Survival planned, so we're doing a lot of lifting, cardio, and squats. No. We're not doing the bootcamp in a trailer. We ARE moving things to the new garage, since we can't move in yet, but they're being kind enough to let us dump in a storage manner. Sorry. I'll have to beg your forgiveness and promise to update you. Eventually.

I Found True Happiness

It feels like I've become a detached voice, writing but not feeling on this blog.  I'm living a lot of things that don't fit neatly into my bloggable ownership file. Even now, I've spent an hour with this tab open to write a new post and I've done absolutely everything else possible.  For once I can't put a finger on what I'm feeling.  I don't fit into any definable box. On one hand, I'm spending an hour in therapy with Chickadee and another hour round trip three times a week. Mr. Survival is fighting off unemployment blues. We cannot shake things up and have me go to work. I'm not going to go to FitBloggin'11 . But, on the other hand, Chickadee is STANDING in the stander for minutes instead of seconds! Chickadee is grasping things momentarily for the first time in eighteen months. I'm so in love with Mr. Survival it's unbelievable. We are tighter as a family than we ever have been. I'm stressed and frustrated.  I...

Flying With Concrete

Today I wanted to write about my dreams. Full of hope and bliss and fulfillment. Yeah, I sound about as light as a bucket of cement. Ready to fly away. Hang on, while I toss out the top of the pile. Maybe that will help me find my lofty aspirations. Nope. Thing is, I'm remembering today that I'm afraid of heights. Really. Once Hubbend made me climb up three stories of scaffolding. Broke it all down for me and left me no other choice. Made me feel irreplaceable. Yes, we must remember that I am crazy friends. Leave it to me to feel important by being told to go up a towering structure of death. I did it though. And I even wired a speaker while I was up there. But I'm still afraid of heights. So. Do you wanna help me out today? For every comment that tells me something someone wants to be able to do that they can't do now I will do one minute of exercise. Really. Because of my child care situation, it will have to be tomorrow morning. So have at it. ...
