A while ago we had a dinner party.
I use a dinner party as an excuse to make a dessert.
There is a theory behind my madness. Isn't there always? See, not only are there more people to eat the dessert, but there are also more people that might take some home with them. I'm usually left with a tiny bit of leftovers that my family and I fight over.
It's better for my hips that way.
I popped the butter into the pan, then pulled out the cocoa. Just for kicks, I said to Mr. Survival, "Miss THANG is going to pop out of her time-out and ask when she's finished in three minutes."
He laughed.
I've noticed that I can never make any chocolate goodie without her sniffing me out. Not even with my mastermind emotional eating prowess skills. It's family tradition. I used to be able to sneak a cookie while talking to my mom who was in the room with me!
But those skills are nothing against my daughter.
My daughter and melted chocolate.
True to my word, miss THANG popped out a minute early. HA!
Today I was making cake-in-a-cup for Mr. Survival and I to de-stress before he submits a resume. The smell of melting chocolate wafted to my nose from the microwave. I mused about miss THANG. I believe in something called the resurrection. Where we will be called back to life by Christ.
It's probably a bit irreverent, but I mused a bit. If for some reason miss THANG doesn't perk up right away out of the grave, I have the solution. A bit unorthodox.
Melted chocolate.

ReplyDeleteI'm trying to get these to work! My links won't go through the comment as click-able. It's driving me batty. So, if the one below doesn't work, click on the one in my Twitter feed to the right, click and paste the one above, or give up. I know I'm about to. Here it goes again:
MICROWAVE CAKE
How about the smell of cookies or bread baking? My teen comes with his nose twitching:)
ReplyDeleteThats funny, I wonder if that would work with other things that people favor like Hubby and steak have a BBQ near the grave site, what do you think?
ReplyDeleteChocolate oooh I want to lick the screen right about now. I am going to go get me a Chocolaty Shakeology to cover my crave.
Ive missed you girl, I hope all is going well with the job find, the chickadee girls dog training, the oh you know life things.
I will now request to be buried with cake. If I happen to oversleep during the resurrection, please swing your resurrected booty over to my grave and throw the cake at my skeleton. Then I shall be a Lazarus-type dude. Instantly.
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny, my daughter is the same way but it doesn't even have to be melted chocolate just any sweet treat it seems lol.
ReplyDeleteMy kids could always smell the chocolate no matter how hard I tried to hide it!
