A) Women getting older become more likable.
B) Acknowledging desires creates truth and honesty.
C) Women like themselves more while aging.
D) Women are ninnies for eternity. No call backs.
E) Women getting older let their faults fly in the open.
F) All of the above.
G) None of the above.
They are all true. Yes, even the last one. I don't know how it is, but I do know it is true. As I am re-hydrating my stressed out life like a raisin in warm water, I watch cares and worries come back into my sphere.
Stress is a funny thing. If the chemicals are working properly in my brain (let's be honest here, we all know this isn't always the case) then I can feel my cares ebb and flow with the tides of crises and mellow. When something really big washes ashore, the tide of usual cares seems to take an extra long time to come back.
Perhaps it is that the smaller cares fail to arrest my attention. They are, after all still lapping about my feet as I examine the large driftwood. Eventually though, the tide comes in. And all those little stressors actually help me shove off the biggest worries of all.
Out to open sea, where hopefully they won't come back. Just obliterate themselves in the sunshine and never bother anyone again. Or me.
But if it does come back-as the currents often do-I know that I can handle it.
A) I'll shove it off again.
B) I'll bury it under my sand castle and pretend it isn't there.
C) I'll whip out my secretly stashed axe, and hack into it like a frenzied Tasmanian devil. Then I will pile it all up and use my eyeglasses to start the whole blasted thing on fire. I will chant, "burn baby, burn" until it is ashes.

I hate that you have any stressorsworriesfearsandfrazzles but I love your way with words and ability to dissipate them a wee bit as you write GENEROUSLY for us.
ReplyDeleteI wish you'd realize your "crazy brain" isn't as crazy as you think it is, especially when it comes to stress. I feel like my life has been one big stressball for the last year and a half - I'm not "diagnosed" crazy - and I could have written those very words up there, if only I could write like you. Hang in there baby.
ReplyDeleteRed hat ladies always make me smile :) Something about their carefree nature..
ReplyDeleteI think this is so true! With age comes a freedom unlike anything I have experienced before.
ReplyDeleteFreedom from trying to live up to someone else's expectations.
Freedom to give my opinion regardless if it will be well accepted but of course never done in a hurt-full way.
I agree with what Helen said. I think we all have the same thoughts as you we just don't know now to express them like you do.
We all have dark and crazy thoughts sometimes.
