My Own Shower

I'm loving being home.  Even though I'm super stressed and not quite recovered from my disaster vacation, it is so nice to be home.  I shaved.  I used MY extra hydrating super moisturizing body wash with my own loofah.  My bed.  Privacy in the bathroom.  For certain.  Need I say more?

If any of you are wondering how on earth I can say my vacation was a disaster after writing at the Peanut Gallery, I must say that post was written at the beginning of my trip to the beach.  On the way back was another story, which MrsFatass let me unburden to her so that I could remain a lady.  Are we straight?

Being home does have a few problems.  Okay, so it's got the same amount of problems it always did.  I come home, needing a vacation from my vacation and it turns out that sleeping in is just not an option.

I am, like so many people, only able to exercise at one point of my day.  In the morning, very very early.  After that, Hubbend goes to work, miss THANG has a schedule that is necessary for universe maintenance and I am getting grumpier by the second.

So I work out very very early in the morning.

Besides all that, there are two of my twitter buddies @JeninRL and @JennIsShrinking need me.  I give them a shout every weekday morning at 5:30.  Yes, that is the A to the M of the morning.  Personally, I think that they just leave their phones in the living room and laugh at my attempts at early morning humor.  But, they missed me and it's gotten me out of bed more than a few times.

Plus, I usually get a shower.

So, andale mujeres.  Vamonos!  When do you have to get your exercise in?

  1. how much do I love that you text em in the mornings!!

I get mine in at the asscrackage of dawn (Im not vulgar---thats the technical term).

then I can happily and not resentfully have the rest of the day be about others.

  2. You and Miz both made me smile today with your wonderful word usage:)

I am fortunate in that my time is mostly my own during the day. But motivation goes down as the hours pass by. I most prefer to work out mid-morning after breakfast and a blogoshpere fix. The old me never worked out later if I missed the morning. The new me will manage an afternoon workout MOST of the time if I just can't get a morning one in for some reason.

  3. As my Mr. says, I get up at the Crack of Crack. Started it when my non-driving teenagers life (she's 30 now) took over my evenings and it was the only time I could get that walk in. Developed the habit and the rest is history. Truly, truly there is something wonderful about running at sunrise.

  4. Well...you gotta know; I don't have kids yet, SOOOOOO....I get to go to the gym whenever. What I have found works best is EARLY in the morning and RIGHT AFTER work. Gives me little time to talk myself out of it :)

  5. If I don't get mine in in the morning, then I don't get it in at all either. Here at my house we have become a bunch of sleepers this summer, and I am lucky to make it out of bed by 7:30, which I have found is making me slow to start. It is time for me to start getting to bed at a regular time and setting that alarm again.

  6. Hey I felt like I needed a vacation from my vacation this year too.

I like to exercise early in the morning before most people are even up. The later it gets in the day the less likely it is that I will exercise.

I get up around 5:30 have my coffee and a little breakfast, put on my work out clothes and hit the nature trail! It is done and over with and it sets me up for a good day. After working out I don't want to eat badly and undo my good works!

  7. I have two times - before work or after work. I'm not very good at RUNNING at 5:30 in the morning. If I'm up at that time, I walk. Otherwise, I try to run when I get home. The challenge is when I'm working 10-11 hour days (like right now) neither time of day seems like a good use of the time I should be making my lunch or dinner.

(Also, skinny girl next to me yesterday says "I just KNEW I needed to run. I ate a few McDonalds french fries at lunch and I knew that wasn't good." Um. Sister? A few french fries wouldnt even HIT my guilt meter.)

  8. I get mine done after work. Mornings are not an option. What is this 5:30 AM thing everyone is talking about? What freakazoid parallel universe does that exist in??? I get up for work at 6:45, I am at work at 8:00 AM. On weekends if I'm out of bed before 10 then it's a miracle to be documented at the Vatican.

    Morning people...I just don't get it :D

  10. I get up at 4:30 so I can write, be by myself and then exercise before the crew troops down the stairs. You are amazing!

  11. I can't imagine - 5:30 in the AMs - daily to work out. Do you wear your red Superwoman cape under your sports bra or on the top of it? I just can't get over it - every day you amaze me. I need to be more like you in every way.

It's Here

We got the moving truck rather unexpectedly. It's more expensive than Mr. Survival planned, so we're doing a lot of lifting, cardio, and squats. No. We're not doing the bootcamp in a trailer. We ARE moving things to the new garage, since we can't move in yet, but they're being kind enough to let us dump in a storage manner. Sorry. I'll have to beg your forgiveness and promise to update you. Eventually.

I Found True Happiness

It feels like I've become a detached voice, writing but not feeling on this blog.  I'm living a lot of things that don't fit neatly into my bloggable ownership file. Even now, I've spent an hour with this tab open to write a new post and I've done absolutely everything else possible.  For once I can't put a finger on what I'm feeling.  I don't fit into any definable box. On one hand, I'm spending an hour in therapy with Chickadee and another hour round trip three times a week. Mr. Survival is fighting off unemployment blues. We cannot shake things up and have me go to work. I'm not going to go to FitBloggin'11 . But, on the other hand, Chickadee is STANDING in the stander for minutes instead of seconds! Chickadee is grasping things momentarily for the first time in eighteen months. I'm so in love with Mr. Survival it's unbelievable. We are tighter as a family than we ever have been. I'm stressed and frustrated.  I...

Flying With Concrete

Today I wanted to write about my dreams. Full of hope and bliss and fulfillment. Yeah, I sound about as light as a bucket of cement. Ready to fly away. Hang on, while I toss out the top of the pile. Maybe that will help me find my lofty aspirations. Nope. Thing is, I'm remembering today that I'm afraid of heights. Really. Once Hubbend made me climb up three stories of scaffolding. Broke it all down for me and left me no other choice. Made me feel irreplaceable. Yes, we must remember that I am crazy friends. Leave it to me to feel important by being told to go up a towering structure of death. I did it though. And I even wired a speaker while I was up there. But I'm still afraid of heights. So. Do you wanna help me out today? For every comment that tells me something someone wants to be able to do that they can't do now I will do one minute of exercise. Really. Because of my child care situation, it will have to be tomorrow morning. So have at it. ...
