Weigh-In #1

I am now 217.4 lbs.
My BMI is 30.3, so I am still obese.

I was at one point this week 216.2 but I bet you can guess what happened. Yep. Those cookies on Thursday turned it to 219 by the next morning. I am reading Jillian Michael's new book about metabolism. It should help. It was the first time I've seen lithium in a food book. I've heard all sorts of urban lore from first-hand experiences that lithium increases weight and makes you keep it on. I don't believe it, because I've listened to my Dr.'s but there is always that nagging 'this can't work' at the back of my brain.

I found a new site. BMI for Females I think I will use this site from now on. It seems more accurate since additional measurements are taken into account. Also, I may just be paranoid but it seems to me that the graphs are skewed. Recommended weights for women in thick of average heights seem to be a good 5 to 10 pounds more than those that start getting over 5'9". What, the cushioning wouldn't help US more when we fall from our loftier heights? All I know is that when I was 155 pounds and running 6 miles a day to get away from the hurt of a broken heart and forcing myself to eat, I looked like a skeleton and still only fit into a size 8 or 10. My ribs were showing, and my ribcage wouldn't let me zip up a size 8 dress. So, I don't know how all those models that are 6' tall fit into size 2. Rant over. I'm still shooting for 170 pounds and my BMI will be healthy. Ha.

Anyway, at this new site it gives you % body fat, not BMI. It tells me I am a disgusting 43.15% fat and at >32.0% I "need work". Duh. I knew that. I knew that before I ran my BMI. Which was a slap in the face telling me I'm obese. But 43% fat? Yuck.

I did well at a restaurant which thankfully marks it's healthiest selections. It felt good to be eating steamed broccoli and sipping lemon water. And-for once in my life-not because I was feeling self righteous. But because I felt those healthy times in my life coming back, and I realized I was happy. Not deprived, manic, control freaked or witchy. How did you do last night?

  1. I love getting sides of veggies...I just learned the other month that Olive Garden will add any of their veggies to their pasta if you ask! :D

It's Here

We got the moving truck rather unexpectedly. It's more expensive than Mr. Survival planned, so we're doing a lot of lifting, cardio, and squats. No. We're not doing the bootcamp in a trailer. We ARE moving things to the new garage, since we can't move in yet, but they're being kind enough to let us dump in a storage manner. Sorry. I'll have to beg your forgiveness and promise to update you. Eventually.

Flying With Concrete

Today I wanted to write about my dreams. Full of hope and bliss and fulfillment. Yeah, I sound about as light as a bucket of cement. Ready to fly away. Hang on, while I toss out the top of the pile. Maybe that will help me find my lofty aspirations. Nope. Thing is, I'm remembering today that I'm afraid of heights. Really. Once Hubbend made me climb up three stories of scaffolding. Broke it all down for me and left me no other choice. Made me feel irreplaceable. Yes, we must remember that I am crazy friends. Leave it to me to feel important by being told to go up a towering structure of death. I did it though. And I even wired a speaker while I was up there. But I'm still afraid of heights. So. Do you wanna help me out today? For every comment that tells me something someone wants to be able to do that they can't do now I will do one minute of exercise. Really. Because of my child care situation, it will have to be tomorrow morning. So have at it. ...

Hippity Hop

I hope it doesn't matter that it's been a week or so since my post on her...but I do have a fabulous special needs daughter.   THIS   and   THAT   are my most recent musings on Special Needs parenting. I'm not sure what I think about either one. It's about being out in public.   Thanks to Sunday at Adventures in Extreme Parenthood   I can handle this blog hop on a week as crazy as this.  I'm excited to visit all these excellent blogs. Stay tuned next week though, for updates on Chickadee's G-tube surgery, moving and The Beast and it's sugar-free diet.  Thanks for playing along at home. I really couldn't do it without you all. Oh, and visit my Facebook Page to see how my weigh-in went this week for GAG.   **I just figured out that  Super Mommy to the Rescue  and Autism Learning Felt  are the sponsoring blogs.  Please follow them if you link up!
